Dear Neighbors
Happy Summer/Fall Pleasant Hill Residents!
We hope you are enjoying your summer which will soon cool down as Fall enters. The PHIA board has been meeting regularly and busy with projects. Everyone’s membership contributions and pier fees, along with additional funds from 12 members have resulted in work being completed this summer.
It appears the signs the PHIA developed, had printed and are now placed at Pleasant Hill Street entrances announcing upcoming events have worked well. This year, Earth Day, the Beach Clean-up and the Easter Egg Hunt drew a better attendance of volunteers. As always, the Park was mowed regularly. Members of the Board along with other neighborhood volunteers also participated in the removal of Buckthorn trees from the Park, as well as a deeper brush clearing.
Along with a general cleanup of the beach area, neighborhood volunteers joined members of the Board to rake the beach. One resident brought in his Bobcat, and with his equipment and efforts by everyone participating, the beach was thoroughly raked, and large quantities of lake weeds and debris were removed and hauled away. As was done last year; to make the lake accessible for swimming, a company was hired to address tremendous weed growth. The treatment was successful, and plans have been made to continue this process. A special thank you to Avon Township for their continuous support with the removal of the beach and earth day debris removal.
Special thanks to all the Board members and volunteers. None of this would happen without the PHIA Board and the volunteers who give of their time, offerings of additional money, use of their equipment, and the provision of their physical strength, energy, creativity and skills to make this subdivision better for all its residents. Please consider volunteering and offering whatever you can. You are invited to attend regular board meetings especially, the annual meeting, to be held in the park, on September 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
Information for new residents and reminder for all:
In the month of October, we will deliver the Halloween flyer. This year’s date and times for Halloween trick or treating are Sunday October 26th from 1:00-5:00p.m.
Cars are not allowed to be parked on any of the streets in the subdivision. This is a safety issue, especially if there's a house fire and fire trucks can't get through our very narrow streets.
It is not allowed to have roosters in the subdivision. Check the Lake County website
https://www.lakecountyil.gov/DocumentCenter/View/2691/Keeping-Chickens-PDF
Kindly Dispose of your garbage appropriately. This is especially true in the park. Please be respectful of your neighbors, your neighborhood, and yourself and place your trash in waste bins. When folks seek to purchase or rent in Pleasant Hill, be mindful that no one wants to live in a dirty subdivision.
Per County regulations keep grass or weeds less than 10 inches to prevent mice, raccoons, possums, and other vermin from moving into your yard. if you notice a public nuisance, you can call the Lake County Nuisance Hotline at 847-377-4444.
Kindly, find our most current subdivision information on www.pleasanthill-ia.com.
Again, please consider joining PHIA as a paid member or volunteering to maintain, clean, and improve our great neighborhood! We need your financial and physical support to keep the Beach swimmable, the Park useable, the Subdivision cleaner.
Have a good rest of 2025!
The PHIA Board
